About the Ellis Clark Foundation

Living Our Best Lives.

Founded in Detroit, Michigan in 2015, Ellis Clark Foundation is a platform for direct action and social change – advancing equity, cultural preservation, and opportunity through education, storytelling, and community-centered investment.

For over a decade, the Foundation has hosted free public programming and distributed grants to uplift marginalized communities, propel Gen-Z to the forefront of our city’s renaissance, and amplify stories too often rendered invisible. Our work spans local and global contexts, grounded in a belief that meaningful change happens fastest when communities are resourced directly and trusted to lead.

From equalizing access to standardized test preparation for students historically disadvantaged from tertiary educational pathways to supporting cultural projects that reclaim our histories, the Foundation operates with care and imagination everywhere.
